BARBER INSTRUCTOR

David McDonald taught barbering and cosmetology as a volunteer at an Illinois State Youth Detention Center.  A year and some months later he was able to be a part of the first graduating class.  David was honored to be the last speaker after The Governor of Illinois (J.B. Pritzker)

David's goal is to open a tuition-free barber and beauty school (via scholarships') where he can help individuals  learn the skills they need to be successful without having a hefty bill at the end.

McDonald told WGN that he left a successful barbershop in West Palm Beach, Florida because God called him to Chicago to help the community.

“That is my heart,” McDonald said. “My heart is to help where other people may not want to venture into. That’s where I want to venture into.”  Also "It will start off with haircuts but eventually i will give millions to the community but more importantly people eternal life is the goal. I want people to get into heaven  which only comes through Yahushua HaMashiach/Jesus The Messiah".

“He’s a good man,” said Englewood resident Joe Hobson. “He has a conversation with you. He’s a good person.”

McDonald says he eventually plans to bring on other barbers and start his ministry in other cities.

As a rule, McDonald never accepts tips from the people he serves. He instead on being funded by faith as he does the work of God.  Donations are welcomed  via PayPal, CashApp and Zelle at CuttingEdgeMobility@gmail.com.

For residents like Dennis Plummer, McDonald’s services are a blessing.

“We’re in such a hard point right now here in Chicago, with everything that’s been going on,” said Dennis, who tries to catch up with McDonald every time he’s in the area. “To have people who look out for you and it not be about money, or getting money out of you, is a blessing. He’s doing God’s work.”
